The Role
Brooksource is hiring an on-site AV Meeting Support Technician to keep meetings running smoothly in a busy public-sector office in downtown Nashville. This is a customer-facing support role, not a deep engineering one. You are the person in the room making sure calls connect, audio works, and presentations go off without a hitch, especially when senior officials are present and the pressure is on.
If a meeting will not start quickly, your job is to get it going or know exactly who to pull in. Judgment and composure matter more than knowing every setting.
What You Will Do Day to Day
- Support the meetings on the floor's schedule, which is planned in advance so you know what is coming.
- Help people join Microsoft Teams and Webex calls.
- Manually start or join Teams and Webex meetings from Crestron and Cisco Navigator touch-panel interfaces.
- Get and keep audio working in any room: speakerphones, handheld microphones, and speaker systems.
- Support in-room hardware: projectors, monitors, speakers, handheld microphones, and their batteries.
- Provide live presentation support, including events on the floor and in the exhibit hall.
- Handle light fixes on the spot, such as sorting out a mixer problem, without waiting on a full install crew.
- Escalate anything beyond quick meeting support to the wider, more experienced team.
Must-Haves (in order of priority)
- Soft skills first. Customer-facing skills and composure under pressure. Comfortable supporting senior officials in high-stakes meetings and staying calm when the room is waiting on you.
- Meeting platforms. Able to manually join and start Microsoft Teams and Webex meetings from Crestron and Cisco Navigator interfaces.
- Audio. Able to troubleshoot audio problems in any meeting room and fix them quickly.
- Hardware. Hands-on experience with meeting-room equipment: projectors, monitors, speakers, handheld and speakerphone microphones, and batteries. Anything you might walk into an exhibit hall and set up for a presentation.
- Light install. Basic on-the-spot AV fixes, for example resolving a mixer issue.
- Equipment. Working familiarity with Cisco, Crestron, and AMX meeting-room equipment.
You do not need to be a deep AV engineer. You need to keep meetings running and know when to bring in the wider team.
