Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Brake/Punch Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. The operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining brake and punch press machines to produce high-quality metal parts according to specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and efficiency in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- operate brake press and punch press machines to bend, form, and punch metal components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings to ensure accurate production.
- Measure and inspect finished parts to verify they meet quality and dimensional standards.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain efficiency.
- Handle raw materials and finished products safely, using proper lifting techniques and equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following company and OSHA safety standards.
- Document production runs, material usage, and any defects or issues encountered.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience operating brake press and/or punch press machines preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Basic math skills and ability to use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing/production floor setting with exposure to noise, machinery, and metal materials.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
- May involve overtime or weekend shifts depending on production needs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
