Job Summary
The OR Circulator & Scrub RN provides safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care by functioning as both a Circulating and Scrub Nurse during surgical procedures. This role collaborates with the surgical team to ensure patient safety, maintain a sterile environment, and deliver quality care throughout the perioperative process while complying with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative care as both a Circulating and Scrub RN.
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and surgical supplies.
- Monitor patients throughout surgical procedures and respond to changes in condition.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the surgical team to ensure safe, efficient care.
- Perform surgical counts, specimen handling, and accurate documentation.
- Assist with OR setup, room turnover, and participate in on-call coverage.
- Recognize post-anesthesia and post-operative complications.
Requirements
- Active Washington State RN License or Multi-State RN License.
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience with Circulating and Scrub responsibilities.
- Previous PACU/Recovery Room experience preferred.
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique, perioperative nursing, and patient safety.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
