About Us
Calibrate Network is a fast-growing third-party logistics (3PL) fulfillment company operating out of a 150,000 sq ft distribution center in Abbeville, SC. We provide warehousing, order fulfillment, and logistics services for national and international brands across fashion, consumer goods, and e-commerce. We're expanding our operations and building a dedicated returns processing team to support one of our largest global fashion clients.
The Role
We're hiring a Returns Supervisor to lead our returns processing team and own the quality bar on every item that comes back through our doors. This is a hands-on, working-supervisor role — you'll be on the floor with your team, not behind a desk.
You'll manage a team of about 12 returns associates, run the day-to-day returns workflow, and make sure every returned item is inspected, graded, and either restocked or dispositioned quickly and to the highest quality standards. Your team is the last checkpoint before product goes back into sellable inventory, and you set the standard for what passes. If you're the kind of leader who notices the one crooked stitch, catches a faint odor that shouldn't be there, AND knows how to coach a team to do the same — this job was made for you.
You'll report directly to the Operations Manager and work closely with our Inventory and Account Management teams to keep returns moving and clients informed.
What You'll Do
- Lead the returns team — schedule, train, coach, and hold about 12 associates accountable to daily processing targets and quality standards
- Own the returns workflow — oversee receiving, inspection, grading, and disposition of returned product (restock, rework, quarantine, or dispose) in our WMS (Logiwa)
- Set the quality bar — make sure every item is inspected for defects, damage, stains, discoloration, pilling, loose threads, missing tags, and odors before it goes back into sellable inventory; product must meet brand-new standards
- Hit speed and accuracy targets — keep returns processing within service-level goals so client inventory stays accurate and customers get resolved quickly
- Run a clean, safe department — maintain 5S organization at all return stations and enforce safe handling procedures, including proper identification and disposal of any biohazardous or contaminated items
- Manage scanning tools — make sure wearable scanners (ProGlove) and return stations are charged, connected, and working, and troubleshoot basic issues
- Identify and escalate patterns — if the same defect or issue is showing up across multiple returns, flag it upstream so we can address the root cause
- Track and report — log daily returns volume and outcomes, surface trends and recurring problems to management before they become client complaints
- Coordinate across teams — partner with Inventory on restock and adjustments, and with Account Management on client-specific returns rules
What We're Looking For
Leadership Sets the Standard
This role runs a department. You'll schedule, train, coach, and hold a team accountable — and the quality of the returns operation will reflect the standard you set. We're looking for someone who leads from the floor and earns respect by working alongside the team, not over it.
Attention to Detail Is Non-Negotiable
You and your team will be inspecting fashion garments at a granular level — checking seams, stitching, fabric quality, hardware, tags, and packaging. Items that look "fine" at a glance may have subtle flaws that make them unsellable. You need to be the person who catches what others overlook, and trains your team to do the same.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years in a warehouse, fulfillment, or distribution environment
- 1+ year in a lead, supervisor, or team-lead role (or strong proof you've informally led a team)
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to maintain focus and consistency over long shifts, and to hold a team to the same standard
- Strong sense of smell with the ability to distinguish between acceptable and unacceptable product conditions
- Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods in a warehouse environment
- Reliable, punctual, and consistent attendance — you set the standard for your team
- Comfortable using handheld scanners and basic warehouse technology
- Experience working with fashion, apparel, or soft goods returns specifically
- Experience in a 3PL or e-commerce fulfillment operation
- Familiarity with a WMS (Warehouse Management System) — Logiwa experience is a plus
- Experience training and scheduling a team
- Familiarity with returns or reverse logistics processes
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
