The Night Shift Marketer is responsible for developing and maintaining referral relationships with hospitals, emergency departments, behavioral health providers, law enforcement agencies, community organizations, and other referral sources during evening and overnight hours. This position serves as a liaison between referral sources and the facility to facilitate admissions, increase census, and ensure timely response to referral inquiries.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with referral sources during evening and overnight hours.
Conduct outreach to hospitals, emergency rooms, urgent care centers, crisis units, physician offices, and community agencies.
Promote facility services, programs, and treatment options to potential referral sources.
Represent the organization professionally at networking events, community meetings, and healthcare functions as assigned.
Identify new referral opportunities and market trends.
Respond promptly to referral inquiries received during assigned shift.
Assist referral sources with admission requirements and processes.
Coordinate with Admissions, Nursing, and Clinical staff to facilitate patient transfers and admissions.
Track referral activity and provide updates to leadership.
Follow up on pending referrals to maximize admission opportunities.
Provide excellent customer service to referral sources, patients, and families.
Address concerns and barriers that may delay admissions.
Maintain ongoing communication with referral partners regarding patient placement and service availability.
Develop strategies to strengthen referral partnerships.
Maintain accurate records of referral contacts, marketing activities, and admissions outcomes.
Submit daily, weekly, and monthly activity reports.
Track census trends and referral conversion rates.
Document all interactions in designated tracking systems.
Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
Ensure marketing practices comply with applicable federal and state regulations.
Some college/university education required; Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Healthcare Administration, Business, Nursing, Social Work, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of healthcare marketing, admissions, business development, or behavioral health experience preferred.
Experience working in a psychiatric hospital, behavioral health setting, or healthcare environment preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent relationship-building and networking abilities.
Knowledge of behavioral health services and referral processes.
Ability to work independently during overnight hours.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic referral tracking systems.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Typical schedule: Evening and overnight shifts (example: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM or as assigned).
