Job Summary
Camp Quinebarge is seeking energetic, responsible, and enthusiastic individuals to join our Waterfront Team for the summer. As a Lifeguard, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of campers and staff during waterfront activities while helping create a fun, positive, and memorable camp experience.
This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children, spending time outdoors, and being part of a close-knit camp community. Lifeguards are expected to be safety-focused leaders who contribute to the overall success of camp programs and activities.
Responsibilities
- Supervise all waterfront activities to ensure the safety of campers and staff.
- Enforce waterfront rules and safety procedures.
- Remain alert and prepared to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies.
- Perform water rescues, first aid, and CPR when necessary.
- Conduct daily safety checks of the waterfront area, docks, boats, and equipment.
- Assist with boating, swimming, and other waterfront programs.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe waterfront environment.
- Support camp activities and special events as needed.
- Serve as a positive role model for campers and fellow staff members.
- Complete incident reports and maintain accurate safety records.
Qualifications
- Current Lifeguard Certification
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification
- Strong swimming ability and confidence in open-water environments.
- Previous lifeguarding or camp experience preferred.
- Ability to remain focused and attentive for extended periods.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm for working with children.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
