Speck Chevrolet of Prosser is seeking a reliable, self-motivated Tow Truck Operator to join our team. This is a commission-based position ideal for someone who is organized, accountable, and comfortable managing both field work and administrative responsibilities.
This role goes beyond driving - you will be responsible for proper documentation, compliance with Washington State regulations, and handling customer transactions from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate tow truck for: Light-duty towing, Vehicle recovery, and transportation of customer and dealership vehicles.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all tows, impounds, and releases.
- Manage bookkeeping related to towing operations, including: Logging payments, tracking fees and charges, and maintaining organized records for audit/compliance.
- Handle customer payments and issue proper receipts
- Coordinate and conduct abandoned vehicle processing and auctions in compliance with Washington State law.
- Ensure all impound, storage, and lien sale procedures are followed correctly.
- Communicate professionally with customers, law enforcement, and internal staff.
- Perform vehicle inspections and basic equipment upkeep.
Qualifications:
- Previous tow truck operator experience
- Knowledge of Washington State impound and lien laws
Work environment is a combination of outdoor field work and administrative duties in dealership office. On-call or flexible scheduling may be required. Fast-paced independent role with high responsibility.
