Procurement Manager
The Procurement Manager will report to the Pre-Construction Manager and play a key role in contract negotiation, procurement execution, and risk mitigation. Additionally, this role will develop and implement subcontractor prequalification procedures and establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track procurement efficiency and accountability.

Contract Drafting & Execution: Develop, review, and execute owner and subcontractor agreements with a high level of detail and accuracy.

Scope Reviews & Contract Alignment: Ensure all contracts accurately reflect project scopes, timelines, and risk mitigation strategies.

AIA Standard Forms Expertise: Utilize and modify AIA standard contracts as needed to fit project requirements.

Subcontractor Prequalification: Develop and implement prequalification procedures to assess subcontractor financial stability, safety history, and performance to protect Paradigm Construction from underqualified subs.

KPI Development & Accountability: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure procurement efficiency, contract turnaround times, cost savings, and risk mitigation effectiveness.

Risk Management & Compliance: Ensure all agreements comply with Texas construction law, including lien rights, indemnification clauses, and payment structures.

Vendor & Supplier Management: Build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to negotiate the best terms and ensure consistent quality performance.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and procurement best practices within the organization.

Collaboration & Problem Solving: Work closely with estimators, project managers, and field teams to address procurement challenges in real time.
This role requires a hands-on, detail-oriented problem solver who can analyze contracts, develop procurement strategies, and drive accountability through measurable performance indicators.

7+ years of experience in commercial construction procurement, with a strong background in contract negotiation and execution.

Extensive knowledge of AIA contract documents and their applications in commercial construction.

Strong understanding of Texas construction law, including lien rights, payment structures, and indemnity provisions.

Proven ability to review project scopes and structure contracts to align with business objectives and mitigate risk.

Experience developing and managing subcontractor prequalification programs.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills to manage procurement efficiency and accountability.

Proficiency in contract management software, procurement systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and with external partners.

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, or a related field.

Experience working with mid-to-large commercial general contractors.

Certifications in Procurement, Contract Management, or Construction Law.

Previous experience developing and tracking KPIs in procurement processes.
