Job Description

Iron Horse Bar and Grill is looking for a friendly, organized, and personable Host/Hostess to be the first point of contact for our guests. Located in Leawood, KS, we’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional hospitality from the moment guests walk through the door.
Responsibilities
- Guest Hospitality: Greet every guest with a warm, friendly, and professional attitude, making sure they feel comfortable and appreciated from the start.
- Seating Coordination: Seat guests promptly while maintaining an efficient table rotation, balanced server sections, and smooth dining room flow.
- Dining Room Awareness: Monitor table availability and the overall dining room layout to maximize efficiency and minimize guest wait times.
- Maintain the Front Entrance: Keep the host stand and entryway clean, organized, and welcoming throughout each shift.
- Team Communication: Communicate closely with servers and kitchen staff regarding seating, guest requests, wait times, and other important updates.
- Menu Assistance: Answer guest questions about menu items, daily specials, and promotions while accommodating special requests whenever possible.
- Reservation Management: Accurately organize and manage reservations, ensuring guests are seated according to schedule.
- Stay Calm Under Pressure: Manage multiple responsibilities effectively during busy service periods while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
- Guest Satisfaction: Respond to guest questions and concerns promptly and courteously to help ensure a positive dining experience.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the entire team to provide efficient service and an exceptional experience for every guest.
Requirements
- Friendly, outgoing, and professional personality
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Previous restaurant or customer service experience preferred
