The Machinist is responsible for preparing steel to be processed in the manufacturing of agricultural handling equipment and other special project ordered. Machinist will perform close tolerance and general turning and milling work on both manual and CNC equipment. Machinist will be available for day shifts, with some overtime based on our production schedule. Machinist will demonstrate high level of responsibility and accountability, working effectively and efficiently. We are looking for someone that has experience programing a Masak lathe that uses the Mazatrol programing language.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
- Perform machine processes and parts production in a timely and safe manner.
- Program, set-up, and operate CNC lathes and mills.
- Set-up and perform close precision manual machining work.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Read and understand technical drawings and geometric tolerances.
- Perform parts inspection, both visual and technical (including surface finish).
- Understand and stay abreast of current industry cutting tool technology and techniques.
- Understand parts usage, internal and external customer requirements.
- Operate forklift and overhead crane.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 1 year schooling, training, experience in Machining Technology.
- Comprehension of CNC and manual machine shop tools and equipment.
- Ability to operate measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers.
- Ability to consistently machine close tolerances.
- Knowledge of machine shop safety and hazards in machine shop areas.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and instruction.
- Proficiency in basic shop math (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication).

TYPICAL ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
- The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions typical of a manufacturing environment. There is protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. The environment includes a variety of physical conditions such a proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, and working on scaffolding or other high places. The employee may be exposed to one or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odors, dust mists, gases or poor ventilation. There is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
