Job Title: Inventory / Purchasing Clerk

Job Summary:
The Powder Coat Inventory / Purchasing Clerk is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory levels of powder coating materials, supplies, and equipment. This role ensures timely purchasing of powders, prep materials, packaging supplies, and shop consumables to support smooth and uninterrupted production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management
- Monitor daily inventory levels for powders, primers, liquid, technical coatings, masking supplies, hangers, and related materials.
- Track incoming and outgoing material usage and update records in the inventory system.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and monthly physical inventory audits.
- Maintain minimum and maximums on all standard material.
- Label and organize all materials for easy access and identification.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of powders, liquids, and technical coatings, according to manufacturer specifications (temperature, humidity, etc.).
Purchasing & Procurement
- Source and order powder coating, liquid, and technical coatings materials, supplies, and tools as needed.
- Communicate with vendors for pricing, lead times, and order confirmations.
- Maintain preferred vendor lists and compare costs to achieve the best value.
- Verify order accuracy and quality upon delivery. Close P.O.s out upon verification of complete P.O. received.
- Track purchase orders and manage reorder points to avoid production delays.
- Keep accurate account of min-max for on time purchasing.
Coordination & Reporting
- Work closely with production and prep teams to forecast material needs.
- Communicate any shortages, delays, or material issues to management.
- Maintain detailed purchasing and inventory records for reporting and audits.
- Support continuous improvement efforts in inventory control and cost reduction.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
- 5 or more years of experience in inventory, purchasing, or manufacturing preferred.
- Knowledge of powder coating materials and processes is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, inventory management software, and basic data entry.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a production environment.

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
