As a new and growing long term care pharmacy, our bookkeeper will play a vital role in handling day-to-day financials operations, including inventory purchases, billing reconciliations, and vendor payments. This role requires high attention to detail, proficiency in accounting software and strict adherence to confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities
· Recording Transactions: Enter daily financial transactions, including pharmacy sales and purchases of medication inventory.
· Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process vendor invoices for pharmaceutical suppliers, manage pharmacy accounts receivable, and follow up on outstanding payments.
· Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations of pharmacy bank accounts, credit cards, and patient trust funds.
· Inventory & Costing: Monitor and record inventory costs to ensure accurate cost of goods sold (COGS) reporting.
· Payroll Processing: Assist with payroll, manage time sheets, and payments.
· Clerical Duties: Maintain organized digital and physical financial files, including receipts and vendor contracts.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications
· Experience: Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in a pharmacy setting.
· Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with accounting software (NetSuite or similar) and MS Excel. Knowledge of pharmacy specific software (Suite RX) preferred but not required.
· Accounting Knowledge: Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles (double entry), accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
· Attention to Detail: High accuracy in data entry and ability to identify discrepancies.
· Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive financial and patient information with discretion.
· Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in accounting or finance is preferred.
Pharmacy-Specific Requirements
· Familiarity with pharmacy billing processes preferred, including claim submission, reconciliation, and resolution of third-party claim issues.
· Support compliance with pharmacy billing regulations and audit processes.
· Understanding of inventory management.
· Knowledge of compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding financial documentation.
· Participate in all company Quality Improvement initiatives as assigned
Physical Requirements
· Ability to hear and communicate either in person or by telephone.
· Possess good vision to read all sizes of type, print, and handwritten materials.
· Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.
· Individuals must be able to use two hands to perform assigned work.
