The Estimator position is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, performing quantity takeoffs, reviewing plans and specifications, soliciting subcontractor and vendor pricing, and supporting the successful planning and execution of commercial construction projects.
Description:
· Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
· Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
· Prepare competitive project estimates and bid proposals.
· Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing.
· Develop project budgets and assist with cost forecasting.
· Identify value engineering opportunities and project risks.
· Maintain estimating databases and historical cost information.
· Support procurement, subcontract buyout, RFIs, change orders, and other preconstruction activities.
· Collaborate with project managers, field staff, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and clients.
· Track estimating accuracy and recommend process improvements.
Job Requirements
· 5 years’ experience estimating commercial construction projects.
· Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, and building systems.
· Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
· Experience with quantity takeoffs and cost estimating.
· Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
· Experience with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, Sage Estimating, ProEst, or similar estimating software preferred.
· OSHA 30 certification required or ability to obtain OSHA 30 within a company-established timeframe.
· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Pay: $34.00 - $48.00 per hour
