Production Carpenter
Reports To: Lead Carpenter & Production Manager
Full-Time Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (half-hour unpaid lunch)
About the Role
The Production Carpenter is a key member of the J.E.P. Contracting field team, working alongside the Lead Carpenter and Production Manager. This hands-on role is ideal for a skilled carpenter with strength in framing, siding & exterior carpentry who takes pride in quality work and is looking to grow within an established design/build firm.
We’re looking for a team player who’s willing to jump in wherever needed, learn our systems and processes, and consistently deliver craftsmanship that meets J.E.P.’s high standards.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Carpentry & Field Work
- Perform carpentry and other tasks on the job site as assigned
- Assist the Lead Carpenter and Production Manager with all assigned field tasks
- Demonstrate general knowledge of the sequence of constructing a home
- Ability to read and follow construction documents, plans, and specifications
Materials & Support
- Assist with material lists and ordering as needed
- Assist with on-site material inventory and takeoffs
Software & Communication
- Become familiar with J.E.P. Contracting’s applications, including JobTread (primary job management software)
- Become familiar with the current projects’ workflow, clients, vendors, and subcontractors
- Punch in and out correctly using JobTread’s electronic time and attendance system
- Document detailed daily job logs
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License-no exceptions
- Highly motivated & eager to contribute to an existing collaborative, growth-oriented team. Together, we strive to deliver high-quality craftsmanship & efficient project support for our clients.
- Maintain a daily consistent professional appearance to represent J.E.P Contracting.
- Basic working knowledge of a computer. IE, email & the agility & patience to learn cloud-based software & job management software.
- 3-5 years of documented carpentry experience in residential remodeling and/or construction.
- Must acquire and maintain the following tools and safety equipment daily:
- Safety glasses, work boots, and a tool belt
- Basic hand tools
- Impact driver, drill, and circular saw
- Any additional tools are a plus
- JEP supplies all fasteners, blades, and consumables
Compensation & Benefits
- Payroll is done weekly, on Friday & the work week runs Sunday-Saturday.
- Competitive hourly rate; payroll processed weekly (Fridays)
- Overtime rate applies after 40 hours
After 60 Days
- $50,000 life insurance policy & Long Term Disability provided (effective 1st of the following month)
After 90 Days
- If needed, Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance begins on the 1st of the following month.
- AFLAC supplemental accident plan provided (on and off the job)
- 7 paid holidays begin
- 40 hours paid personal/sick time issued annually
- An additional 3 unpaid sick days are available for full-time employees
After 1 Year
- 40 hours paid vacation for full-time employees

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
