<Job Overview>
We are seeking a motivated Marine Technician/Rigger to join our dynamic team. This energetic role involves performing maintenance, repairs, and rigging on a variety of marine vessels and equipment. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of mechanical expertise, electrical knowledge, and rigging skills to ensure our customers’ boats operate safely and efficiently.
<Duties>
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on boats and marine equipment
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections on vessels and related components
- Read schematics and technical manuals to accurately assemble, disassemble, or repair marine systems
- Rig boats for operation, including installing hardware, rigging lines, and securing equipment using hand tools and power tools
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks safely while adhering to safety standards and proper lifting techniques
- Maintain detailed service records, schematics documentation, and work logs for each job
<Skills>
- Proven service technician experience in marine or related industries
- Strong understanding of schematics, electrical systems, and mechanical drawings
- Electrical experience including soldering, ohmmeter use, and troubleshooting wiring issues
- Rigging expertise with knowledge of assembly techniques and hardware installation
- Mechanical knowledge covering vehicle maintenance, fabrication, welding, sheet metal work, and use of hand tools and power tools
- Ability to read calipers and other precision measuring instruments accurately
- Customer service skills with a professional attitude toward clients’ needs
- Experience with heavy lifting equipment and safety protocols during maintenance tasks
- Familiarity with Lightspeed
