Position Summary
On-Time Medical Group is seeking a compassionate and motivated Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor to join our multidisciplinary team. This is a hybrid position that combines in-office and telehealth services. The counselor will provide comprehensive outpatient addiction treatment for adults with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
The ideal candidate will conduct comprehensive SUD assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, provide individual and group counseling, support patients receiving Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to promote long-term recovery.
Essential Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive Substance Use Disorder (SUD) assessments and participate in ASAM level-of-care recommendations.
- Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling through in-person and telehealth visits, as appropriate.
- Utilize evidence-based interventions, including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), relapse prevention, and trauma-informed care.
- Support patients participating in Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) programs through collaboration with prescribing providers.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as clinically indicated.
- Coordinate care with physicians, psychiatric providers, therapists, peer recovery specialists, detoxification programs, hospitals, recovery residences, and community agencies.
- Assist patients with referrals to detoxification, residential treatment, intensive outpatient programs, recovery housing, and community resources.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement activities.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, Joint Commission standards, and Maryland regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Active Maryland credential as a CAC-AD, CSC-AD, LGADC.
- Knowledge of ASAM Criteria and recovery-oriented treatment.
- Excellent communication, clinical assessment, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Comfortable providing both in-person and telehealth counseling services.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of outpatient Substance Use Disorder counseling experience.
- Experience conducting comprehensive SUD assessments and treatment planning.
- Experience facilitating individual and group counseling.
- Experience treating co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- Experience working within Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) programs.
- Familiarity with Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and relapse prevention.
- Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
