Duties
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), ensuring adherence to ethical standards and professional guidelines.
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, eating, and communication to promote independence.
- Collect and record accurate behavioral data during therapy sessions to monitor progress and inform treatment adjustments.
- Support clients in developing social, communication, and self-care skills through engaging teaching strategies aligned with ABA principles.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation, client records, and progress notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies.
- Communicate regularly with caregivers, teachers, and team members to coordinate care plans and share client updates effectively.
- Ensure a safe environment by managing behavior using positive reinforcement techniques and behavior management strategies tailored to each individual’s needs.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children or individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavior management techniques, and special education practices.
- Ability to assist with ADLs and support clients in achieving functional independence.
- Strong data collection skills and experience maintaining accurate medical records.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, HIPAA compliance, and medical documentation standards.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction, team collaboration, and family engagement.
- Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or willingness to obtain certification is required; ongoing professional development is encouraged.
