Job Summary
The Safety Coordinator I is an entry-level position designed for individuals with limited direct EHS experience who are eager to develop a career in safety management within dry utility design and construction. This position offers support to field operations under the supervision of senior safety staff, focusing on understanding compliance requirements, conducting basic inspections, and assisting with safety training.
Duties
- Assist in implementing company health and safety policies and programs.
- Conduct basic site safety orientations and toolbox talks under supervision.
- Support preparation and distribution of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and pre-task plans.
- Perform site walkthroughs and assist with documenting hazards.
- Help maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS), permits, and safety documentation.
- Participate in incident reporting and investigations, primarily in a supporting role.
- Complete assigned safety training and certifications promptly.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s preferred).
- 0–2 years of EHS or construction experience.
- OSHA 10-hour Construction required; OSHA 30 strongly encouraged within first year.
- Basic knowledge of construction safety principles.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Desire to build a career in construction safety.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
