Job Title: Senior Backend Java Engineer
Location: Boston, MA
Duration: 6+ Months

We are looking for engineers who can effectively leverage AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) across the SDLC—design, development, testing, and production support—to deliver high-quality, scalable systems.

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, deploy, and support IBOR platform components
- Build scalable, high-performance backend services using Java, Spring, and SpringBoot
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into solutions
- Work with PMs, Tech Leads, and QA on estimates, delivery, and risk management
- Align solutions with enterprise architecture and engineering standards
AI-Integrated Development
· Use AI tools (Claude Code, Copilot) to accelerate development and improve quality
· Apply AI across the SDLC:
o Code generation, refactoring, and optimization
o Test development and automation
o Debugging and production issue resolution
o Documentation and knowledge capture
· Identify opportunities to improve productivity through AI-assisted workflows
Qualifications
- 6–10+ years of experience in Java-based systems development (Java 11+; current stack Java 21). Good understanding of core java APIs.
- Solid understanding of concurrency, multi-threading, and high-performance systems
- Experience with Spring, SpringBoot and building REST APIs
- Exposure to WebSockets and performance testing (e.g., JMeter) is a plus
AI & Modern Engineering Expectations
· Hands-on experience using GenAI tools (e.g., Claude Code)
· Ability to use AI tools effectively for coding, debugging, and problem-solving
· Interest in or exposure to AI-driven / agentic workflows
· Strong problem-solving skills, including breaking down work into AI-augmentable tasks
