The Mechanical Engineer II independently designs custom equipment and serves as a technical resource across the organization. This position leads engineering activities on assigned projects, interfaces directly with customers, and mentors junior engineering personnel.
- Design custom wet process equipment and mechanical subsystems.
- Lead engineering activities from order entry through installation support.
- Review customer specifications and develop engineered solutions.
- Lead pump, plumbing, filter, heating, cooling, and process system design activities.
- Review engineering drawings, bills of materials, manuals, and technical documentation.
- Develop advanced material selections based on chemical compatibility and application requirements.
- Interface directly with customers and suppliers on technical matters.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause investigations for assigned projects.
- Support startup, installation, and field service activities, including escalation support when needed.
- Lead portions of new product development programs.
- Lead cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentor Mechanical Engineer I personnel and interns.
- Provide technical input and direction to manufacturing, sales, service, and production teams.
- May require occasional travel and overtime.
- BSME or equivalent.
- 3-8 years of engineering experience.
- Industrial equipment or machine design experience preferred.
- Strong project leadership skills.
- Experience working directly with customers and suppliers preferred.
- Strong understanding of fluid handling systems, mechanical design, and chemical compatibility.
- AutoCAD, Inventor, Microsoft Word and Excel, AS/400 Database, and Infor/Syteline experience preferred.

- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs.
- May require travel up to 5-10%.
- May require occasional overtime based on project or customer needs.
