Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Systems & Risk Engineer specializing in URRA (Universal Risk and Reliability Analysis) and Medical Devices. Responsibilities
- Lead system design and integration efforts for medical devices, utilizing CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD to develop detailed mechanical and electrical schematics.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments using URRA methodologies, root cause analysis, and failure mode effects analysis (FMEA) to identify potential hazards and implement mitigation strategies.
- Develop and validate control systems using programmable logic controllers (PLCs), scripting languages like Python, C++, MATLAB, and other automation tools to enhance device reliability.
- Perform mechanical design tasks including 3D modeling for product development, mechanical troubleshooting, and building code compliance analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including manufacturing, civil engineering, systems engineering, and research—to ensure seamless system integration and adherence to industry standards such as GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools.
- Manage project scheduling, resource allocation, and documentation to meet project milestones efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Conduct laboratory testing, data collection, research activities, and system troubleshooting to support product development cycles.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Civil Engineering, Quantum Engineering or related fields with strong foundation in math and engineering principles.
- Proven experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role within the medical devices or related sectors.
- Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and BIM tools; experience with 3D scanning technology is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, schematics creation, building code analysis, fire protection systems, and construction experience is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with programming languages including Python, C++, MATLAB scripting for automation and data analysis tasks.
- Expertise in system design processes including risk management techniques like root cause analysis; experience with system troubleshooting is essential.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams effectively while managing project schedules.
- Strong communication skills for clear documentation and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams; leadership experience is advantageous.
