We are currently looking for a MRI technologist to join our team.
Under the supervision of the Medical Director and Radiologists, the MRI Technologist is responsible for patient flow and performing various MR procedures on patients using advanced MRI protocols and pulse sequences. This includes transferal and archival of images and performance of appropriate scanning protocols. This position also requires adherence to patient privacy and HIPAA requirements while demonstrating ethical and professional conduct.
The ideal candidate would be comfortable communicating with the supervisor on any unresolved issues, troubleshooting equipment, and recording and reporting problems. They would offer suggestions for improving internal and external departmental operations. Most importantly, they must be compassionate and courteous with all patients and staff.
Skill Set
- Experience working with Hitachi Oasis 1.2T Open MRI
- Extensive knowledge of MRI physics and various MRI protocols
- Excellent multi-tasking skills, with the ability to communicate with patients, family members and staff while recording clear and accurate images
- Detail-oriented and organized to keep the center running on schedule
- Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology and congenital/acquired pathology as they relate to the performance of MRI exams
- Ability to document patient clinical history, symptoms, and technical observations for each exam type
Responsibilities
- Perform high quality MRI exams on incoming patients
- Monitor patient's well being during exams; recognize patient discomfort or medical problems and take appropriate action
- Administer contrast as needed in a safe and effective manner
- Guide patients through this sometimes-difficult process by kindly talking them through the steps and answering their questions/concerns regarding exam procedures and process
Education and Certifications
Two years of related MRI experience required and the following licenses are required:
- ARRT(R)(MR) certification or ARMRIT- American Registry of Magnetic Imaging Resonance Technologists
- CPR certification required
