Build Vehicles That Help First Responders Do Their Jobs
Midwest911, Inc. builds and services emergency response vehicles for police, fire, EMS, municipal, and fleet customers. Our work includes patrol vehicles, command vehicles, fire department vehicles, ambulances, and other mission-ready fleet vehicles.
This is a hands-on shop position for someone who enjoys working on vehicles, wiring, electrical systems, lighting, accessories, and specialty equipment.
You do not need to come from the emergency vehicle industry to apply. If you have experience with automotive work, 12V electrical systems, car audio, vehicle accessories, fleet maintenance, equipment installation, or low-voltage wiring, we want to talk to you.
What You’ll Do
As an Emergency Vehicle Technician, you’ll help install, service, diagnose, and repair specialized equipment in public safety and fleet vehicles.
Responsibilities include:
- Install emergency lighting, sirens, speakers, controllers, radios, consoles, computer mounts, partitions, and other vehicle equipment
- Perform clean low-voltage wiring, routing, fusing, terminations, and connections
- Troubleshoot electrical, lighting, communication, and equipment-related issues
- Assist with full vehicle builds, service work, repairs, and decommissioning projects
- Follow work orders, diagrams, installation instructions, and shop procedures
- Test installed equipment to confirm proper operation
- Document work performed with notes, photos, and service details
- Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe
- Work with other technicians and team members to keep projects moving

- Automotive repair or maintenance
- 12V electrical work
- Car audio, alarms, remote starts, lighting, or vehicle accessories

Emergency vehicle experience is a plus, but it is not required. We are willing to train the right person if they have the right attitude, work ethic, and attention to detail.
