A specialty retail pharmacy in Winston-Salem, NC, is seeking a knowledgeable Staff Pharmacist to support their sterile and non-sterile compounding operations. This contract-to-hire opportunity offers a 13-week assignment with a chance to transition into a permanent role, working Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM with a one-hour lunch break.
The ideal candidate will have 1 to 2 years of pharmacy experience and a valid North Carolina pharmacy license. Experience in sterile and non-sterile compounding is highly desired, though not required. Training will be provided for order entry using PK software, which is similar to QS1.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense medications accurately in a specialty retail setting with a focus on compounded prescriptions.
- Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounded medications following established protocols.
- Maintain compliance with state pharmacy laws and company policies.
- Enter prescription orders accurately and efficiently using PK software.
- Counsel patients on medication use and provide excellent customer service.
- Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care.
Qualifications:
- Licensed pharmacist in North Carolina.
- 1 to 2 years of pharmacy experience, preferably in retail or compounding.
- Experience with sterile compounding is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with non-sterile compounding procedures is beneficial.
- Ability to learn new software platforms quickly.
