Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Activities Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities that enhance the quality of life for residents in our senior care facility. This role requires a strong understanding of recreational therapy and the unique needs of seniors, including those with disabilities or memory care requirements. The Activities Director will work closely with residents, families, and staff to create a vibrant community atmosphere that promotes social interaction and personal growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
- Plan and coordinate events, outings, and recreational activities that encourage participation and enhance social engagement.
- Assess residents' needs through individual evaluations to ensure activities align with their physical, emotional, and cognitive capabilities.
- Facilitate group activities that promote teamwork, communication, and skill development.
- Collaborate with staff to integrate activities into daily living routines (ADLs) for residents in assisted living and long-term care settings.
- Provide counseling on aging issues and support for families navigating care options.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to continuously improve programming.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations during all activities.
Skills
- Strong background in recreational therapy or related fields.
- Experience in senior care settings, particularly in assisted living or memory care environments.
- Proficient in event planning with excellent organizational skills.
- Knowledge of aging issues counseling and home community care practices.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities and diverse needs.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
- Creative problem-solving abilities to adapt programs based on resident feedback and changing needs.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
