Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Project Engineer with experience in CNC machine shop manufacturing, estimating, and SolidWorks design. This role manages projects from RFQ through production while ensuring compliance with our AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system.
Responsibilities
- Manage projects from quote through delivery
- Review RFQs and prepare accurate cost estimates (machining, materials, outside services)
- Create/modify models and drawings in SolidWorks
- Coordinate with customers, machinists, and vendors
- Support production with technical guidance and problem-solving
- Ensure compliance with AS9100D / ISO 9001:2015 requirements
- Assist with process improvements and cost reduction
Requirements
- 5+ years in a machine shop or precision manufacturing environment
- Experience with estimating/quoting machined parts
- Proficiency in SolidWorks
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining (milling/turning)
- Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, or otherwise eligible under ITAR regulations)
Preferred
- Experience in AS9100D or ISO 9001 environments
- ERP/MRP or CAM experience
- High-precision manufacturing background
