The Head Volleyball Coach/ Freshman Seminar Advisor is responsible for providing training, direction, encouragement, motivation, and advice to prepare athletes for games and competitive events adhering to the general employee guidelines as specified by the Personnel handbook, the Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC), and the National Junior College Athletic Association. Responsible for assisting students with program planning, transfer information, course selections, and registration. Teach and orient students to the College.
Salary: Appropriate placement on ACCS Salary Schedule E1, Grade 1: $56,139 - $76,577
(Salary placement within this range is determined by your documented years of full-time related work experience)

1. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.
2. A minimum of (3) years’ experience coaching volleyball at the high school or collegiate level is required.
3. Skills in making effective public oral presentations to small groups and/or large audiences is required.
Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate through their experiences and accomplishments:

Experience as a Head coach.

CPR Certification.

Experience in the use of current educational technologies and understanding of basic computer skills and presentation software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel, etc.).

Possession of a valid driver’s license and the ability to be insured.

Effective human relations skills, professionalism, enthusiasm and commitment to career exploration.

Successful problem-solving skills and confidence in decision-making and communications skills;

Ability to coordinate and coach a successful collegiate volleyball team;

Ability to lead, motivate, and supervise student athletes including a willingness to maintain flexibility to meet students’ needs;

Knowledge of appropriate safety rules, regulations, and CPR certification;

Knowledge of current coaching methods, collegiate eligibility standards, first aid, and sports medicine practices;

Knowledge of the Calhoun Community College Catalog, admissions policies and procedures, general financial aid information, and college departments

Effective oral and written communication skills;

Ability to work independently and in a team environment;

Ability to deal effectively with diverse students, other employees, and the public;

An understanding of and commitment to the philosophy and missions of the community college system;
