Responsibilities
- Operate POS systems efficiently to process retail sales transactions accurately and swiftly.
- Handle cash register operations, including cash handling, cash drawer balancing, and ensuring transaction accuracy.
- Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product demos or store navigation.
- Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales and meet customer needs.
- Maintain knowledge of store products through ongoing merchandising efforts and product demos to inform customers effectively.
- Stock shelves and organize merchandise to ensure a clean, inviting shopping environment.
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone or online inquiries.
- Supervise or assist in supervising team members during peak hours or busy periods, fostering teamwork and efficiency.
- Support grocery or retail store operations by managing inventory levels, stocking shelves, and assisting with merchandising displays.
- Ensure compliance with all cash handling procedures and maintain accurate records of transactions.
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key!
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations enhances efficiency in transaction processing.
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in grocery stores or retail environments involving product demos and merchandising is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills are essential for engaging with diverse customers effectively.
