Overnight Recovery Support Specialist
BlueJay Living is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and professional Overnight Recovery Support Specialist to join our recovery housing team. This is an overnight position responsible for helping maintain a safe, supportive, and recovery-focused environment for residents during overnight hours.
This is not a clinical or counseling position. The primary responsibility is ensuring the safety and security of the home while providing support to residents as needed.
Responsibilities
· Maintain an awake, attentive presence throughout the overnight shift.
· Ensure the safety and security of the home and residents.
· Respond calmly and appropriately to resident questions, concerns, or emergencies.
· Monitor adherence to house expectations, including overnight curfew and visitor policies.
· Conduct periodic walkthroughs of the home as appropriate.
· Document incidents, concerns, or significant events that occur during the shift.
· Communicate important information to the management team at shift change.
· Contact emergency services and follow established emergency procedures when necessary.
· Complete light household duties, such as ensuring common areas are clean, doors are secured, and the home is prepared for the next day.
Minimum Qualifications
· Must be 21 years of age or older.
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
· Ability to pass a criminal background check.
· Successful professional reference checks.
· CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
· Ability to remain calm, use good judgment, and respond appropriately during emergencies.
· Strong communication skills and the ability to establish healthy professional boundaries.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in one or more of the following is preferred:
· Behavioral health
· Recovery or sober living environments
· Community Support Services (CCSS)
· Peer support
· Case management
· Residential or supportive housing
· Healthcare or human services

The ideal candidate is dependable, observant, compassionate, and able to work independently. They understand that recovery housing is built on safety, respect, accountability, and support. This person should be comfortable interacting with residents, enforcing house expectations respectfully, and responding confidently if unexpected situations arise.
Schedule
