American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a DC RN license, NRP certification, and at least 2 years of L&D experience.

Hospital Labor & Delivery unit setting

Patient population includes females of childbearing age, pregnant patients from 17 weeks gestation, laboring patients, and triage cases
-
Procedures and activities include vaginal and C-section deliveries, pre-op prep, C-sections, external cephalic versions, and triage assessments, as well as unit admissions, discharges, and transfers

Fetal monitors used on the unit

Cerner and Fetalink used for documentation

Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)

On-call requirement of one shift per week

9-week contract

Active DC RN license required — no pending licensures accepted

Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
-
AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification required
-
Minimum 2 years of L&D experience in a US hospital setting

LDRP experience and labor with postpartum (PP) experience preferred
-
Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates

Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the past 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer

Responsibilities include caring for laboring patients, supporting scheduled procedures, managing triage, and facilitating admissions, discharges, and transfers

All certifications must be from the American Heart Association (AHA)

Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
