Duties
- Prepare and cook authentic Chinese dishes with precision, consistency, and flair, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance on food preparation, cooking techniques, and safety procedures
- Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste through efficient food production practices
- Ensure compliance with food safety sanitizing procedures and maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment
- Oversee food service operations during shifts, coordinating with front-of-house teams to deliver excellent customer service
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dishes and refining existing recipes to enhance flavor profiles and presentation
- Lead catering and banquet food preparations, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality dishes for large events or special occasions
Skills
- Extensive experience in Chinese cuisine with a strong foundation in traditional cooking techniques
- Proven supervisory experience managing kitchen teams in a fast-paced environment
- Background in banquet, catering, fine dining, and restaurant management settings
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitizing procedures, and hygiene regulations within the food industry
- Skilled in inventory management, cost control, and food handling to optimize kitchen operations
- Demonstrated leadership in managing shifts, controlling costs, and maintaining high standards of hospitality
