Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to oversee and lead all safety and compliance initiatives within our transportation operations. The Safety Manager will ensure full compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration ( FMCSA ) regulations, promote a strong safety culture and reduce incidents through proactive training, monitoring and policy enforcement.
This role works closely with operations, dispatch and driver management teams to maintain high safety standards across the fleet.
Key Responsibilities
* Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with FMCSA regulations
- Maintain driver qualification files ( DQF ), safety records and compliance documentation
* Safety Program Mangement
- Develop and implement company safety policies and procedures
- Lead safety meetings and driver safety training programs
- Conduct safety audits and risk assessments
* Incident & Accident Management
- Investigate accidents, incidents and safety violations
- Develop corrective action plans to prevent reccurrence
- Manage accident reporting and insurance coordination
* Driver Safety & Training
- Monitor driver behavior and safety performance
- Provide coaching and corrective training when necessary
- Work with recruiting and operations to ensure qualified and safety-focused drivers are hired
* Fleet Safety Monitoring
- Track safety KPIs such as accident frequency, CSA scores and violations
- Implement improvement strategies to maintain strong safety ratings
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of safety management experience in trucking/logistics
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations and compliance
- Experience with ELD systems, HOS monitoring and CSA scores
- Experience conducting accident investigations
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to train and mentor drivers
- Proficiency with Safety Management Software and Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing fleets of 50+ trucks
- Background in fleet safety technology and telematics

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
