Job type: Full-time (Monday-Friday, 9/9:30 am to 6 pm)
Responsibilities:
- Be customer service oriented with strong communication skills
- Perform all duties on customer premises in a professional and courteous manner
- Perform installations, repairs, reconnects, disconnects, site surveys, and customer moves within our Wireless Network
- Perform installation of basic networking equipment such as routers, switches, WiFi
- Service and troubleshoot internet network devices
- Troubleshoot and isolate faults to customer or wireless equipment
- Ensure all installation work is done according to quality standards
- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with customers
- Be aware of current service charges, policies, promotions, and be able to effectively communicate these to the customer
- Stay up-to-date on daily installation/service call paperwork
- Demonstrate ability to work independently after training period
- Periodically available on weekend/holidays if needed
- This position requires the individual to have a valid CA driver’s license and be able to operate a company vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic carpentry know-how, i.e. an understanding of how homes are constructed
- Ability to safety drill holes through walls without damaging existing wiring or structure
- Ability to mount equipment to exterior of buildings without damaging roof or other property
- Be proficient with Windows, Mac, and various handheld OS wireless network settings (to troubleshoot with customers)
- Understanding of radio waves and frequencies
- Strong accuracy, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Able to operate a computer and test equipment associated with the installation
- Able and willing to work in all types of weather including but not limited to cold, rain, heat, wind
- Able to work in confined spaces which occasionally include crawl space, attics, closets, stairways, etc.
- Experience with Wi-Fi access points and wireless controller configurations preferably with MikroTik, Cambium and Ubiquiti equipment
- Have a working understanding of DHCP, DNS, IP addressing and subnetting
- Ability to operate hand tools including but not limited to extension ladders, electric drills, crimpers, hammers, wrenches, and screwdriver
- Have a general knowledge of Ethernet cable and grounding standards for residential and/or business environments
