Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Regional Nurse Consultant to provide expert clinical guidance and leadership across multiple healthcare facilities within a designated region. Duties
- Provide comprehensive clinical consultation to healthcare facilities, supporting nursing staff in delivering optimal patient care aligned with current best practices.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of medical documentation, electronic health records (EHR), and compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
- Offer training and educational programs on medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and long-term care regulations to enhance staff knowledge and performance.
- Collaborate with facility management to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives aimed at elevating care standards and regulatory compliance.
- Review medical records and documentation processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to state healthcare regulations.
- Assist in managing regulatory inspections and accreditation processes by preparing facilities for audits and addressing identified deficiencies.
- Support management in developing policies related to acute care, long-term care facility operations, and electronic health records management.
- Provide leadership in managing nursing teams through administrative clinical supervision, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Experience
- Extensive nursing experience within hospital settings or long-term care facilities, with a strong emphasis on patient care delivery.
- Proven management or nursing leadership experience involving supervision of clinical staff and administrative oversight.
- In-depth knowledge of state healthcare regulations, long-term care regulations, HIPAA compliance, and quality assurance standards.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems, medical documentation practices, and electronic health records management tools.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data effectively for quality improvement initiatives and regulatory reporting purposes.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and acute care procedures.
- Experience working within regulated healthcare environments with an emphasis on regulatory compliance and clinical best practices.
