PURPOSE STATEMENT:
Plan, organize and supervise the facility’s financial support function(s), to ensure industry standards, as well as company policy and procedures are followed.
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for the complete flow of the business functions of the department(s) including proper recording of payments, changes and write-offs, proper methods of collections, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of financial documents and reporting.

Provide staff management to include hiring, development, training, performance management and communication to ensure effective and efficient department operation.

Responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.

Resolve difficult issues and complaints originating from any internal or external source.

Responsible for implementing departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal statues, hospital and accrediting agency regulations.

Maintain knowledge of payer-specific rules and regulations regarding billing and payment for facility and professional services.

Check accuracy of business transactions recorded by others.

Manage department financial operations.

Analyze financial records or reports to determine state of operations and to improve financial management.

Prepare financial documents, reports or budgets, as directed.

Prepare month end journal entries, month end close and GL account reconciliations with establised time frame.

Monitor flow of cash or other resources.

Preparation and submission quarterly and annual goverment reporting requirements to ensure the financial records are accurate and filed timely.

Assist in budget analysis and preparation.

Assist, monitor, and coordinate accounting and financial projects as assigned by CFO.Assist CFO with schedules, reports, audits, and projects per Corporate and othe agency's requests.

Serve as a backup for the Payroll/AP Staff Accountant when needed.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:

Qualifications:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field required.

Four or more years' accounting experience preferred, in a healthcare setting a plus.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Required.

Public accounting firm's experience are Preferred.

Strong accounting background, analytic skills and knowledge of GAAP are Required.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel Required.

Works well under pressure and in a fast - paced environment.

High degree of attention to detail and multi tasking

Compensation for roles at San Jose Behavioral Health varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, San Jose Behavioral Health provides a reasonable hourly range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California as set forth below.
