Overview
For over 70 years, Chris Candies, Inc has been producing chocolate bars for some of the biggest companies in the candy industry.
We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic on the DAY SHIFT to perform electrical & mechanical maintenance on a variety of packaging & processing equipment as well as general maintenance. Position is on-site at our Northside factory; Monday through Friday, 9 hour shift with paid breaks; must be available for occasional overnight coverage.
Responsibilities
- Setup molding lines and related processing & packaging equipment including line configuration and equipment wash downs.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and pneumatic issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance on industrial production & facility equipment.
- Clean & maintain idle equipment
- Keep accurate daily maintenance records & parts inventory
- General maintenance duties such as entry-level electrical, troubleshooting and plumbing
Experience
- 4+ years proven experience as a maintenance mechanic or 2 year trade school certificate.
- Demonstrated ability to read technical diagrams and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to use hand tools and follow technical manual instructions.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Good time management skills with ability to work independently.
- Able to read and write in English.
- Familiarity with PLCs would be beneficial.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 60+ lbs, repeatedly
- Work in an industrial setting that includes: Standing for prolonged periods with frequent bending, lifting, pushing/pulling, climbing catwalks & ladders as needed
- Able to work in an environment that includes allergens such as: peanuts & tree nuts.
Pay: $24.00 - $36.00 per hour
