The Engineer II works effectively as part of the Engineering department strive to maximize guest engagement, achieve operational excellence, and uphold brand standards. Engineer Is are responsible for maintaining the building, grounds, and physical plant with particular attention towards safety, security and asset protection.
Respond and attend to guest and in house requests for repair, maintenance, and preventative maintenance. Resolve general plumbing issues such as unclogging drains, plunging toilets, and repairing leaky spigots, plumbing lines, pumps, and faucets. Perform general HVAC trouble shooting and repairs.
Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment (electrical, mechanical, vacuums, televisions), including cleaning, troubleshooting and lubrication.
Maintain accurate logs and records as required and ensure regulatory compliance to facility regulations and safety standards and procedures are followed; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; and complete safety training and certifications.
Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Be able to perform manual material handling of 50lbs individually or with assistance of a co-worker when over 50lbs if necessary.
Move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladder. Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight. Use lift in order to reach high areas throughout property when necessary. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Leaders.
Maintain the physical plant including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical and life safety systems and make repairs to such equipment if necessary.
Participate in preventative maintenance program to perform services include painting, repair work, renovations and the replacement of furniture and equipment. Communicate areas that need attention to staff and follow-up to ensure understanding.

Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, pull and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally, 30 pounds frequently and 25 pounds constantly. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Ability to effectively cope with change, handle risk and uncertainty comfortably, ability to shift gears at a moment’s notice while being composed under pressure. Does not show frustration when dealing with upset guests or team members.
Relates well to all kinds of people – up, down, and sideways, inside and outside the organization; builds appropriate rapport; builds constructive and effective relationships; uses diplomacy and tact; can defuse even high-tension situations comfortably.
Flexibility to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation. Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules, including holidays and weekends to accommodate the business and demands of the property.
