About the Role:
Purvis Gray is seeking a Tax Partner to lead our Orlando tax practice and serve as the senior technical and people leader for a team of approximately 50 professionals. This role is suited for an experienced tax leader who combines deep technical expertise on complex client matters with strong people leadership — someone who can set direction for the team, ensure quality and consistency in technical work, and develop the next generation of tax professionals.

Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership and direction for a tax team of approximately 50 staff, including workflow management, capacity planning, and performance development
- Lead complex tax engagements from planning to delivery, including partner-level technical review and signoff
- Serve as the firm's technical resource for sophisticated and high-net-worth client matters across compliance and consulting
- Supervise, mentor, and develop staff at all levels in a team-oriented environment
- Perform advanced technical tax research and develop strategic recommendations for complex client situations
- Identify and implement tax planning opportunities for clients
- Manage and grow key client relationships, ensuring exceptional service delivery
- Oversee engagement economics including budgeting, billing, and collections
- Contribute to the firm's long-term growth strategy, with business development becoming an increasingly important part of the role over time
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's in Tax is a plus)
- Active CPA license
- Minimum 12+ years of relevant tax experience in public accounting, including demonstrated leadership of large teams
- Advanced technical knowledge of flow-through/pass-through taxation and complex client structures
- Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills
- Experience or aptitude for business development is a plus, but not the primary focus of this role
