Job Summary
The Material Handler is responsible for transporting materials between Twin City Knitting facilities to support production operations. This position operates a company box truck to complete scheduled routes, loads and unloads materials by hand, and ensures products are delivered safely and accurately. The Material Handler also assists with organizing and moving materials within the Bleach House while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company box truck to transport materials between Twin City Knitting facilities.
- Complete assigned routes between Twin City Knitting facilities in a timely and efficient manner.
- Load and unload materials by hand, including socks, yarn, boxes, and other production materials.
- Verify materials are accurate and properly labeled before transport.
- Deliver materials to the appropriate departments and staging areas.
- Pick up finished goods and return materials to designated locations.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns.
- Secure loads to prevent damage during transport.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation as required.
- Keep the truck and work areas clean and organized.
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and applicable driving regulations.
- Assist with material handling and production support within the Bleach/Wash House when routes are complete.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or material handling experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license required with a clean driving record.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred but not required.
- Ability to safely operate a company box truck.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
- Manually load and unload materials throughout the workday.
- Stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and reach frequently.
- Enter and exit the truck multiple times throughout the shift.
- Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Work Environment
This position splits time between driving company routes and working in a manufacturing environment. Employees should expect exposure to varying temperatures, noise, moving machinery, and outdoor weather conditions while traveling between Twin City Knitting facilities.
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
