Responsibilities
- Thoroughly wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment following food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed to support kitchen operations
- Clear and buss tables promptly to maintain cleanliness and efficiency in dining areas
- Operate dishwashing and other kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of trays, boxes, and supplies with proper technique to ensure safety
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness throughout the kitchen and dishwashing areas
- Follow all kitchen health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues
Qualifications
- Previous food service or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential
- Knowledge of food handling, sanitation practices, and food safety management principles
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting with proper technique
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers and sanitizing stations is a plus
- Strong attention to detail in cleaning, sanitation, and food safety procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of hygiene
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting the culinary team
