Blue Mountain Union School District is seeking a food services worker to support food services for students on a daily basis. Blue Mountain Union School consists of pre-K through grade 12 students, all housed under one roof. School enrollment hovers around 420 - 440 students. We are located on Route 302 (Exit 17 off Interstate-91).
Blue Mountain Union School brings together the communities of Groton, Ryegate, and Wells River.Our school district is part of Orange East Supervisory Union (OESU). The other schools in OESU are Bradford, Newbury, and Thetford Elementaries, Waits River Valley School, Oxbow High School, and Riverbend Career & Technical Center. Our supervisory union covers the towns of Groton, Ryegate, Wells River, Bradford, Corinth, Newbury, Thetford and Topsham.Job Purpose: To perform a variety of routine and skilled food preparation and service tasks for the schools cafeteria program.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Clean and organize food service and dining areas.- Serve food to students.- Stock, clean and maintain food, equipment and beverage lines.- Stock and maintain inventory of condiments.- Set up components of the salad bar and prepare salads for the salad bar as assigned.- Assist with daily cleaning duties in the cafeteria including cleaning equipment and work areas, operating dishwasher and/or scrubbing pots and pans, cleaning up lines at end of meal shift, and putting away/disposing of leftovers.- Assist with routine food preparation tasks, such as cleaning and cutting up fruits and vegetables, making and wrapping sandwiches, preparing/cooking other food offerings and the like.- Comply with State Sanitation Guideline requirements stating that all employees shall keep clean and wear clean outer garments at all times while engaged in handling food, drink, utensils or equipment. The use of caps, hairnets, headbands, pins, or other hair restraints are required for all food handlers.- Other duties may be assigned by the Food Service Director.
Compensation: This position pays between $21.11 and $29.52 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Compensation is determined by the districts collective bargaining agreement, which considers factors such as degree level and years of service. This compensation range is provided in accordance with Vermonts Pay Transparency Law and reflects a good faith estimate. Final salary may vary depending on qualifications, licensure, and other relevant factors
