We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. Responsibilities
- Record and reconcile all financial transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or similar systems.
- Prepare and post journal entries, including debits and credits, ensuring accuracy in the general ledger.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently to maintain healthy cash flow.
- Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations regularly to verify account accuracy.
- Process payroll accurately and timely, including tax calculations and compliance with payroll regulations.
- Assist with governmental and non-profit accounting requirements, ensuring adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other relevant standards.
- Generate detailed financial reports, including budgets, financial statements, and analysis reports for internal review or external audits.
- Conduct account analysis, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting to support audit readiness.
- Support tax preparation activities by organizing financial data and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Maintain organized records of all financial documents, supporting transparency and audit preparedness.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, or comparable platforms.
- Solid knowledge of accounting standards (GAAP), governmental accounting practices (if applicable), and double-entry bookkeeping systems.
- Experience with payroll processing, account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and journal entries.
- Familiarity with financial concepts such as debits & credits, general ledger accounting, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Strong skills in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) for data analysis and report writing.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage large volumes of data accurately.
- Technical knowledge of various financial software systems including QuickBooks Online, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of nonprofit or governmental accounting is a plus but not required.
