Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Child Care Director to lead and oversee our early childhood education programs. This vital role involves managing daily operations, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children, and fostering a team dedicated to exceptional childcare. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in childhood development, classroom management, and working with children of various ages, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. As a Child Care Director, you will play a key role in creating an engaging, inclusive space where children can thrive and families feel confident in our care.
Duties
- Lead the daily operations of the childcare center, ensuring compliance with licensing standards and safety regulations
- Supervise and support teaching staff, providing mentorship and ongoing training in early childhood education best practices
- Ensure staff develops and implements age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote developmental milestones in areas such as social-emotional skills, cognitive growth, and physical activity
- Oversee classroom management to maintain a positive, respectful environment conducive to learning and caregiving
- Coordinate onboarding, scheduling, and performance evaluations for staff members
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share progress updates, address concerns, and foster strong relationships
- Ensure all staff hold current certifications in first aid, CPR, and other required safety training
- Maintain accurate records related to child attendance, health information, incident reports, and licensing documentation
- Promote an inclusive environment by working effectively with children with disabilities or special needs through tailored activities and support strategies
- Complete all required administrative reports in a timely manner
- Adhere to budgetary and enrollment benchmarks monthly
- Knowledge of Keystone STARS criteria and PA licensing regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children across various age groups including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, or school-age children
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education methodologies
- Classroom experience managing young children in daycare or preschool settings
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team with effective classroom management and behavior guidance techniques
- Certifications in first aid, CPR, and child safety procedures (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with parents, staff, and community partners
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude
- Proven track record in meeting budgetary, enrollment and administrative benchmarks

Pay: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
