Now Hiring: Test Engineer - Dynamometer
Location: Dearborn, MI (Hybrid - 4 days onsite)
Pay Rate: $42.31/hour
Ready to put your engineering skills to work in a hands-on testing environment? We're seeking a Test Engineer to support engine performance development through testing, data collection, analysis, and reporting. As a Test Engineer, you'll support engine performance and durability testing by developing and executing test plans, collecting and analyzing data, and reporting results to cross-functional teams.
Job Duties
- Design, prepare, and execute engine dynamometer test plans to validate engine performance, combustion, mechanical function, and durability
- Collect, monitor, and document test data using engine testing and instrumentation systems
- Analyze test results and identify performance trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement
- Process test data and prepare reports, summaries, and presentations for engineering teams
- Support engine calibration and performance development activities through hands-on testing
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful test execution and project objectives are met
- Assist with test scheduling, test cell setup, and verification of testing requirements
- Communicate data observations, findings, and recommendations to engineering stakeholders
- Maintain accurate test records and ensure adherence to testing procedures and quality standards
- Work directly with engine hardware and testing equipment in a laboratory environment
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Master's degree preferred
Experience Requirements
- Experience with engine testing, combustion development, or calibration development
- Knowledge of engine design, functionality, and performance systems
- Familiarity with data collection, data analysis, and test instrumentation
- Experience using data processing tools and interpreting technical test results
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
