Travel assignment in an acute care setting
This travel assignment places a dedicated ED RN in a busy emergency department for adults and pediatrics, with holiday rotation and a flexible day/night schedule. The contract requires coverage across shifts and holidays to support changes in patient volume. All candidates must hold active licensure in New York and meet the experience and certification requirements described below.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct, patient- and family-centered ED nursing care for patients across all ages, from triage through discharge.
- Perform primary and secondary assessments, identify urgent and emergent priorities, and implement timely interventions in life-threatening and routine situations.
- Administer medications, perform procedures within scope of practice, monitor patient status, and document care accurately.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care, escalate concerns, and ensure patient safety.
- Educate patients and families, prepare for diagnostic procedures, arrange post-acute referrals, and deliver discharge instructions.
- Maintain infection prevention standards, reassess patient condition, and update communication boards and family during the ED stay.
Requirements
- Active New York State RN licensure
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification; Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI) required
- ED nursing experience of at least 2 years; 1 year of acute hospital experience also noted in job notes
- Ability to work in a fast-paced ED environment with triage responsibilities and variable shifts
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, comfort, and high-quality, compassionate care
- Willingness to rotate through days, nights, and holiday coverage as needed
