Key responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:
- Perform advanced maintenance, repair, installation, and troubleshooting of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, steam, hot water, boiler, refrigeration, and building control systems.
- Diagnose complex equipment and system failures, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements.
- Maintain and repair temperature controls, sensors, regulators, pneumatic controls, pressure-reducing valves, motorized steam valves, chilled water valves, and other specialized building systems.
- Perform electrical work up to 600 VAC, including maintenance and repair of wiring, panels, breakers, motors, lighting systems, switchgear, and related equipment.
- Support the operation and maintenance of life safety, sprinkler, geothermal, and other advanced building technologies while performing preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
- Demonstrate and enforce proper lockout/tagout procedures, identify system deficiencies, and promote a safe working environment.
- Serve as a technical leader by mentoring team members, cross-training staff, sharing best practices, and providing guidance on advanced repairs across multiple trades.
- Lead or support complex maintenance projects and continuously seek opportunities to improve equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and facility performance.
- Perform tasks requiring standing for extended periods, working in confined spaces, and utilizing various tools. Safely climb and work from different types of ladders to access elevated or below-grade areas (such as roofs, above-ceiling spaces, and utility pits). Be exposed to and work in areas where insects or small animals are occasionally present. All essential tasks must be performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
