As an Infection Preventionist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents and staff by identifying and mitigating infection risks.
Responsibilities:
Conduct surveillance and monitoring of infection rates and trends
Develop and implement infection prevention and control policies and procedures
Provide education and training to staff on infection prevention and control best practices
Develop and maintain infection prevention and control manuals and guidelines
Coordinate and participate in infection control committees and other quality improvement initiatives
Ensure adherence to CMS, OSHA and other regulations; maintain documentation for audits and inspections
Conduct infection control assessments and make recommendations for improvement
Collaborate with other departments to ensure a comprehensive approach to infection prevention and control
Requirements:
Current certification in infection prevention and control or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire
Minimum 1 year of experience in LTC or infection prevention and control
Experienced RN or LPN
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
