Responsibilities
- Operate meat processing equipment and machinery following manufacturing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
- Perform meat cutting, butchery, and packaging tasks with precision, ensuring product quality and consistency.
- Maintain strict adherence to USDA regulations, HACCP standards, and food safety management practices throughout all processing activities.
- Follow OSHA guidelines and personal protective equipment (PPE) use policies to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and colleagues.
- Conduct sanitation procedures regularly to uphold hygiene standards in the food processing plant, including cleaning equipment and work areas.
- Assist with assembly line operations by monitoring product flow, inspecting meat products for quality, and ensuring efficient production processes.
- Document production activities accurately, including inventory tracking, quality checks, and compliance records.
Skills
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and HACCP protocols relevant to food processing environments.
- Experience with meat product production, meat cutting techniques, and butchery skills.
- Familiarity with USDA regulations and legal compliance standards specific to the food industry.
- Ability to operate manufacturing equipment safely and perform basic mechanical troubleshooting when needed.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent proficiency in food safety management practices.
- Basic math skills for measurements, portioning, and inventory management within a manufacturing setting.
- Prior experience working on assembly lines or in a food processing plant is highly desirable for success in this role.
