Norton’s Restaurant of Green Lake, WI (now under Gage Marine’s family of businesses!) is hiring Hosts and Hostesses to be the first point of contact for our guests. As a host/hostess, you’ll set the tone for the dining experience by greeting guests warmly, managing reservations and waitlists, and escorting customers to their tables.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Welcome guests with a warm and friendly attitude

Provide accurate wait times and manage reservations and waiting lists

Escort guests to assigned dining or bar areas and present menus

Communicate with servers to ensure efficient seating and service flow

Greet guests upon departure and thank them for dining with us

Maintain a clean and organized reception area

Cater to guests requiring extra attention (such as families with children or elderly guests)

Answer incoming phone calls and assist with customer inquiries

Support the wait staff and restaurant team as needed
QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience in a restaurant or culinary environment is preferred but not required.

Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests.

Basic math skills for handling transactions and calculating bills.

Familiarity with POS systems is a plus.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor.

Knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards is desirable.

Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
