Our client is a respected Texas-based electrical and low voltage contractor with more than 40 years of experience delivering large-scale commercial projects across the state. Their technology division specializes in structured cabling, security systems, and commercial audio-visual solutions for corporate offices, conference centers, educational facilities, healthcare campuses, and other commercial environments.
They're seeking an Audio-Visual Technician I who wants to grow their skills installing professional AV systems while working alongside experienced technicians on high-profile projects throughout the Houston area.
Audio-Visual Technician Job Description
- Installing commercial audio-visual devices including displays, monitors, projectors, speakers, microphones, cameras, and control equipment
- Pulling, routing, labeling, and dressing low voltage cabling for AV systems
- Installing cable pathways including J-hooks, cable tray, conduit, and support structures
- Mounting televisions, monitors, speakers, projectors, and associated hardware according to project specifications
- Assisting with equipment rack buildouts and cable management
- Reading blueprints, reflected ceiling plans, and device layouts
- Terminating low voltage cabling and connecting AV equipment
- Supporting system testing and troubleshooting efforts
- Maintaining clean, organized, and professional installations on active construction sites
- Working safely while coordinating with project leads and other trades
Basic Requirements:
- 1-2 years of commercial AV, low voltage, structured cabling, or related installation experience
- Experience pulling and dressing low voltage cable
- Basic knowledge of commercial audio-visual systems and equipment
- Experience mounting displays, speakers, or related technology devices
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and installation drawings
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
